Request a speaker for your event. NEOCH's Street Voices speakers bureau shares stories of struggle, survival, and hope. With each unique tale, they introduce our community to the real face of homelessness and to inspire people of different ages and backgrounds to serve and get involved in their communities. Churches, schools, libraries, and other organizations can request a speaker here.

MAHP is a Network that meets by ZOOM and is open to people of all ages, talents, backgrounds and abilities in the Presbytery. We especially need the voices of folks who know about the needs and resources in Lorain, Medina and Lake Counties. We meet at 10:00 a.m. on the First Wednesday of the month. Add your name to our mailing list by contacting Josh Daum.

Description:

The Ministry Advocating for Homeless Persons provides information to local congregations on Homelessness issues including local resources, one-time events, causes and effects, and effective ways to provide hospitality.

Members of this Network will:

• Facilitate and support congregational connections that promote partnership and cooperative ministries.

• Conduct on-site visits to encourage cooperation between churches and service providers. 

• Provide relevant information on current services for homeless people and how to access them. 

• Work with the Hunger Action Network, Racism Action Network,  Self-Development of People, and yet-to-be formed networks in recognition of the intersectionality of these ministries.  If you would like to get involved, you can contact the committee at mahp@preswesres.org.

If you do not see a member of your congregation listed please consider joining us! Our first Wednesday meetings on Zoom are convenient for folks of all ages and abilities and rarely last longer than an hour. It's a good way to start making a difference for the homeless.
